we want to grow, learn, create, play, perform and share
Founded in 2013 in Berlin by Judy Mièl and myself under the pen name Lo Pecado, COVEN Berlin is a transdisciplinary collective and online magazine focused on feminism, love, gender, sexuality and art.
As a co-founder and editor-in-chief, I am responsible for its written content and conceptual arrangement. I also manage COVEN Berlin’s Facebook, twitter, Google+, and Instagram accounts.
The online platform is presented as a conflation of provocative aesthetics and critical brainwaves in form of artworks, interviews and essays mixed with a breath of irony and outside-the-box thinking.
COVEN Berlin aims to create an open sphere with words and visuals that would serve as a weapon to deconstruct the assimilated gender stereotypes, to defy body politics, and to transversally think about immigration, race, and sexuality.
The collective is not only very active in the virtual world, but also organizes exhibitions, performance events, parties and screenings regularly held at diferent venues in Berlin.
In June 2014, COVEN Berlin started featuring quarterly issues with different topics or leitmotivs that would serve as inspiration for our editors and collaborators. Our first three issues, Witchcraft, Queens&Kings, Love out of Love, were welcomed with high engagement by our readers on social media.
